The Jewish cultural center “Zhukovka” was built by FJC – The
Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia.
The Center is located in the city of Moscow, a short
distance from the Residence of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The
Center was inaugurated in the Hanukkah Eve, on the first of December 2015.
The Center was built at the place of an old synagogue, which
was not able anymore to accommodate the number of worshipers who wanted to attend
it. The architectural design was done by the British architectural company
Gensler. The emphasis was to design a modern multifunctional building and yet to
maintain a Jewish traditional appearance. The project was funded by private
donors and contains: a synagogue, a Mikvah, a Banquet Hall, a hotel and a kindergarten.
The requirement was to make an architectural lighting
project which would flatter to the architectural lines of the building.
Our design agency created a few Led Architectural lighting
designs for the customer to choose from.
After the approval of the design by the customer, our
Engineering Department characterized the lighting fixtures, control system and
made a detailed execution plan.
Our installation and supervision teams were on Israel-Russia
airline for a very intense 4 months in order to accomplish the project on
schedule.
The opening event was attended by many distinguished personalities,
among them:
Chief Rabbai
of Israel – Rabbi David Lau
Chief Rabbai
of Russia – Rabbi Berl Lazar
President of
FJC – Rabbi Alexander Boroda
The Governor
of Moscow District – Andrei Vorobiev
Moreover, the internal lighting project of the Jewish Center was carried out by Divolight.
All of the indoor lighting fixtures are DALI controlled.
